Title: Neurocognitive aging in a noisy brain.
Presenter: Prof. Andrea Protzner
Dr. Andrea Protzner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, a member of
the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research & Education
at the University of Calgary. Her research links cognitive integrity and neural dynamics to
provide a coherent understanding of how cognition emerges from operations in the intact
and impaired brain. She combines learning paradigms, neuropsychological approaches, and
neuroimaging techniques to examine the group average and individually unique effects of
healthy brain aging and major depression.
